American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity








A few days ago, I stumbled upon a link to the extraordinary "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

It is unfathomable to me that garments from decades ago would maintain their appearance and beauty, as well as transcending time.

Equally opulent as they are chic, the fashions date from 1890 to contemporary times. Unfortunately, the last day for the show is August 15.

However, I will simply have to salivate over the Youtube.com clip below, while cultivating a fine excuse that will allow me to blow off work/school/friends/family all other commitments to fly off to the East Coast!
